Who is leading this country right now? I’ve heard nothing about President Joe Biden since the Democrats kicked him off the stage and under the bus, except that he’s seemingly enjoying a round of vacations. Has he completely surrendered his responsibilities as president? I’ve heard of lame ducks before, but this is ridiculous. This duck ain’t even crawling.

War continues to rage between Israel and Hamas, and between Ukraine and Russia. Our borders remain as porous as ever. Latin American gangs are terrorizing suburbs. Cities remain riddled with violent crime. Anti-Semitism has infected our college and university campuses. In 2020, the inflation rate was 1.4%, now it’s 2.9% and we’re supposed to be happy about that because it’s down from the 2021 rate of 7%. Housing prices are through the roof and rents keep rising. Who’s in charge here?

It doesn’t appear that Biden is on the job, anymore. Neither, of course, is Kamala Harris. Has Harris ever been on the job?

Harris is running for president, which is the first time she’s really done anything since becoming vice-president. What, exactly, has she been doing for the last three-and-a-half years, other than endearing us with her love for Ven diagrams and yellow school buses and filling YouTube videos with her interminable word salads? She says she’s always been the last one in the room with Biden when decisions were made. Which means she’s at least partly responsible for the dismal dumpster fire this administration has been. Yet, she’s running like she’s the challenger! “A new way forward!” Well, yeah, we need a new way forward, but how is the lady who’s been the last one in the room over the last three-and-a-half years gonna take us on a new way forward? And why would she want to if she’s so blasted pleased with the job they’ve done? She says there’s no sunlight between her and Biden, but she’s sure trying to create some now. First, she wanted to ban fracking, now she doesn’t. First, she hated the idea of a border wall, now she’s all in. Oh, and she wants no taxes on tips. Golly, where’d she get that idea?

I guess we’ll just be coasting until election day. Hopefully, Russia, Iran, and China won’t be paying any more attention than our “leaders” are. I pray for my country.
