Sexploitation Schemes Targeting U. S. Children

Hacker in data security concept. Hacker using laptop. Hacking the Internet. Cyber attack.

In an interview on FoxNews, Former Assistant FBI Director Chris Swecker speaks about a new scam that is targeting young people in the U. S., especially young boys, that has resulting in millions of dollars in bribery payments and thirty suicides.

The scam is one of sexploitation. Terrorist organizations in Africa and Eastern Europe are contacting young boys over the internet, pretending to be young girls. They’ve researched the boy, know where he lives, where he goes to school, his after-school activities. Over the course of the conversation with the boy, the “girl” sends sexually provacative pictures and encourages the boy to respond with sexually provacative pictures of himself. Immediately the exploitation begins, demanding that the boy send money, sometimes as little as $100 to $500, knowing the victim likely doesn’t have much money and, if the targeted boy fails to do so, they threaten to expose the pictures to a wider audience on the internet. Upwards of $7 million was collected by one such organization by means of thousands of victims.

So, what can be done? Control over a child’s access to the internet is crucial. Parents must have access to what their children are looking at over the internet. Also, open communication between parents and their children is essential. If a child knows he or she can come to his or her parents with anything, regardless of how embarrassing, parents can be the parachute that saves these children from a horrible fate.

Talk to your children. Talk to your children about this. They must be aware that they can come to their parents about anything, without fear of retribution. The consequences of not doing so are potentially devestating.

Be Christ for all. Bring Christ to all. See Christ in all.
