Judge Places Hold on Deportation of Chaldean Christians

Good news from Michigan: a federal judge has placed an emergency hold on the deportation of over 100 Chaldean Christians gathered up by ICE last week and set to be sent back to Iraq. These Chaldeans all face deportation as a result of crimes committed, sometimes minor and sometimes decades ago. Because they are Christians, they will be targeted for persecution or even death if sent back to Iraq. Many of these people came to the United States as children with their parents, fleeing war and religious persecution. Some have been here so long they don’t even speak Arabic and they have no family or connections in Iraq.

This is a temporary hold, so it isn’t the end of the story. Please write or call your senators and representative and ask them to take action to stop this unjust action.

Be Christ for all. Bring Christ to all. See Christ in all.
