Please pray for the people of Venezuela. Not only are the suffering the horrible results of socialism – lack of basic needs, food, and medicines – they’re country has recently been rocked by violent confrontations between the government and various opposition groups, and even by ordinary people in the streets who are tired of living under this political and economic oppression and dictatorship.
Here is the story of five young priests who heroically confronted armored trucks that were bearing down on a group of people gathered for the funeral of a young man who had been killed in the conflict. The priests were able to turn the tanks away. It is reminiscent of the anonymous man in Tiananman Square and the woman who stood alone before such trucks last April.
Can you imagine living in a country where tanks or armored trucks roll down the street to confront people gathered for a funeral because they perceive that gathering as a threat to the government?
Thank God for such heroic priests. May they live a thousand years and may their guardian angels keep them from all harm.
Be Christ for all. Bring Christ to all. See Christ in all.
