Bishop Stika of Knoxville was on The Hal Show with Hallerin Hilton Hill addressing the abuse scandal in the Church. Give it a listen. Bishop Stika does a great job addressing the matter head on.
One point to make: Hill asks a few questions about celibacy. It ought to be clear by now, and I thought it has been for years, that rape is not about sex. Rape is about power. Sexual abuse is not about sexually frustrated individuals acting out sexually. Sexual abuse is about the emotionally and spiritually weak trying to feel powerful by overpowering others. Really, all kinds of abuse are about weak people trying to feel powerful.
Anyway, Bishop Stika does a stand up job here, and so does Hill. Give it a listen. It’s worth it.
