Last Sunday, Fr. David Carter, who is a good friend and the pastor of the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul in Chattanooga, TN, preached on the recent Motu Proprio issued by Pope Francis on the celebration of the Mass in the Extraordinary From, otherwise known as the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM). Fr. Carter has long been a strong proponent of the TLM and the TLM has been offered at the Basilica in Chattanooga for the last several years. As well, he is a leader among priests, and especially among those priests attached to the TLM. His homily from last Sunday is a wonderful reflection both on how to respond when the Church disappoints, and in how to remain faithful under all circumstances. If the celebration of the TLM is a concern for you, give Fr. Carter’s homily a listen. It’s worth it.
