I would like to let you know that I have a website that you may visit with information on my retreat ministry. The website is called “Saturday Day Retreats with Deacon Bob Hunt” and can be found here at deaconbobretreats.com.

On the website you’ll find some background on yours truly, a list and summary of all of the Saturday Day Retreats that I offer, a calendar that lists the retreats, parish missions, and other presentations that I’m giving, and a link to my blog, to the monthly column that I write for the East Tennessee Catholic newspaper, and information on my book, Thy Word: An Introduction to the Bible for People in the Pews. There’s also information on contacting me if you would like to schedule a Saturday Day Retreat.

My Saturday Day Retreats are mini-retreats that generally run four hours. They usually begin at 10am and go until 2pm, with a group from the parish providing lunch. The times are flexible, so if a pastor wants to adjust the times to correspond with Mass in the morning or with Confession in the afternoon, that’s perfectly fine. The topics for the retreats I do include the Scriptures and Catholic teaching on various subjects. I also do a Retreat for Fathers, which is basically a tutorial on why one should want to be a Catholic Father and some practical tips on being the spiritual head of one’s family. Again, you can look on the website for a list of the retreats and a summary of each.

I would like to express my eternal gratitude to Chandler White for designing the website, getting it up and going, and teaching me how I can utilize the calendar. Chandler is also designing a brochure for me that I can then send to pastors, DREs, AFF director, OCIA directors, etc. along with a letter of introduction. I would also mention that Chandler is a new Catholic, being baptized along with his newborn son, Brooks, and his beautiful wife, Hailey, who was received into full communion with the Church by Confirmation, all at the last Easter Vigil. I am honored to say that I am godfather for both Chandler and Brooks.

I do not charge for the services I offer. If there are travel costs, assistance with that is appreciated (if it requires air travel, then it’ll be necessary, for I am a poor deacon on disability). I only ask that you allow me to make copies of my book, Thy Word, An Introduction to the Bible for People in the Pews, available for purchase. Also, I have started the practice of taking up a “love offering” during the retreats, the funds collected turned over to the pastor to be given to a favorite charity of the parish.
