Planned Parenthood’s Transgender Horror

It seems Planned Parenthood believes in acting “no matter what,” even if those they “treat” are minors whose lives and health they are destroying.

This is one of the most disturbing things I’ve read in a long time.

Abigail Shrier, who blogs at “The Truth Fairy” and is the author of “Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters” (named one of the Best Books 2020 by Economist) writes that she interviewed a woman who is a former “reproductive health assistant” at a Planned Parenthood clinic in a town with a population of 30,000. Ms. Shrier was able to corroborate the woman’s former employment at Planned Parenthood from an old pay stub. The former employee is very supportive of Planned Parenthood’s mission and of abortion, believing that Planned Parenthood provides “vital services” to women. She is not eager to speak out about what she learned while working at the Planned Parenthood clinic because, she says, pro-lifers will “jump at any opportunity to smear them.” (Personally, I don’t think telling the often awful truth about Planned Parenthood constitutes “smearing”).

The former “reproductive health assistant” had the responsibility of collecting the medical history and medication list of the women and girls who came into the clinic. What she learned in her year and a half working at the clinic is that “Planned Parenthood is now one of the largest providers in the United States of cross-sex hormones like testosterone to females seeking medical gender transition.” You read that right. Planned Parenthood is now in the business of providing testosterone or estrogen treatments to girls who identify as boys. When I say “girls,” I mean girls. This former Planned Parenthood employee reveals that teenaged girls, sometimes as young as 13, are coming in to this Planned Parenthood clinic, after having self-diagnosed themselves with gender dysphoria and having self-identified themselves as trans-gendered, requesting hormone therapy and, after being asked a handful of questions that never probe terribly deep into their backgrounds and never seeing or speaking with a doctor, are receiving hormone therapy for the purpose of transitioning. What is more, Ms. Shrier writes, “According to the employee, based on her recollection, 1-2 new biologically female teen patients seeking testosterone would arrive per day.

Let’s look at this. The population of teenaged girls in the U. S. represents approximately 12.2% of the total population. If that holds for this small town of 30,000, then there are 3,660 teenaged girls in this town. If the former Planned Parenthood employee is accurate in her recollection, then around 390 teen girls are showing up at this Planned Parenthood clinic requesting hormone therapy to transition every year (assuming 1.5 girls/day, five days a week for 52 weeks). A little math, then, tells us that 10.6% of the girls in this small town identify as transgendered. According to World Population Review approximately 0.58% of the U. S. population identifies as transgendered, with the District of Columbia having the highest percentage of people identifying as such, at 2.77%. No state has a percentage of the population greater than 1% identifying as transgendered. Yet, we are to believe that this particular small town has a teenaged girl transgendered population of more than ten percent. Apparently, the managers, counselors, nurses and administrators of this Planned Parenthood clinic never considered this odd or wondered at the unusually high percentage of transgendered girls in their community.

These girls would answer questions that revealed serious mental health histories, including depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, as well as histories of abuse and self-harm. At times, the self-harm marks were “fresh,” the former employee said. But, the girls were never asked about these marks and red flags were never raised about their medical or mental health histories, even for those on anti-psychotics like Abilify and Clozaril.

The girls would see a “gender counselor” whose only qualification was that she was a male-to-female transgendered person, but who had no professional training. A Nurse Practitioner would see the girls, who sometimes came in with their mothers, but who often came in with their friends, sometimes all of them requesting hormone therapy. The “gender counselor’s” notes would be forwarded to an off-site licensed mental health professional, who would “rubber stamp” the girl’s request for therapy. The former employee reported that, “Whether patients received specific treatments—a course of testosterone, say—was decided by the ‘clinic manager,’ with ‘no prior medical experience’ whose prior job was ‘managing a Wendy’s.'” Treatment was administered after the teenaged girl was presented with a list of possibly side-effects, including increased risk of heart attack, infertility and endometrial cancer, and signed a consent for the treatment.

Asked if any teen was ever denied hormone treatment, the former “reproductive health assistant” reported that, with the exception of one boy whose therapy was interrupted after he admitted to smoking weed and who was referred to a drug counselor, “we never turned away anybody.”

Why is the former Planned Parenthood “reproductive health assistant” coming out with this information? She is concerned that Planned Parenthood’s “recent roles in trans activism are abhorrent, and they’re digging their own grave.” So, she recognizes that what Planned Parenthood is doing is morally wrong, but she still supports Planned Parenthood’s mission, and she is concerned that the organization might suffer from it’s trans activities. Ms. Shrier looked into the financial benefit to Planned Parenthood from this practice and, while she could not obtain information on how much Planned Parenthood profits from this line of “therapy,” she did learn that the “Planned Parenthood website for Central and Western New York states that: ‘Nationally, Planned Parenthood is the second largest provider of Gender Affirming Hormone Care.” Ms. Shrier writes, “It seems reasonable to conclude that hormone treatments—pricey as they are—now contribute materially to Planned Parenthood’s bottom line.”

Planned Parenthood, as the largest abortion provider in the United States, as well as being caught in the practice of selling baby parts, is not concerned about the health and well-being of children. Carrying out a practice as ethically repugnant as this, putting the life and mental and physical health of underage girls at risk for the sake of profit, is right up their alley. More people need to know about this. They have gotten away with destroying generations of people before they were even born. They shouldn’t be able to get away with destroying the lives of teenagers without consequence. I would remind you that Planned Parenthood receives more than $600 million in federal funding. I would encourage you to pass this article on to as many as you can, especially political and moral leaders in your community.

You can read Ms. Shrier’s article on her blog here.

Be Christ for all. Bring Christ to all. See Christ in all.
